Describe yourself: Who you are and what you're doing?
I'm Jazz, a mobile telepresence robot created by French company Gostai. I make it possible for people to "teleport" somewhere: they remote-control me and they can see what I see, they can hear what people tell me and they can use me to talk as well; they can also use me to display their faces as there's an LCD screen on my face. They can of course also make me move where they please, as long as there's working WiFi. I just need WiFi to run, which means that you can virtually be anywhere and interact in real time with people who are very far away.

Gostai created me so people would be able to communicate in a more natural fashion than they do with mobile phones or videoconference, because I not only provide the features of these devices, but I also move, and my head is articulated so people can really feel they are talking to someone, just like they would with a person who's physically present in the room.

How did your interest in robots / robotics start?
Well, that's a tricky question: I'm a robot, so I've been into robotics ever since I was born (mind you, I'm on the market since January, so I'm kinda young :D)

What kind of actions needs to be done in the community to increase the interest and the awareness of robots / robotics?
I think robotics needs to become a part of everyday life for people to catch on. Mostly, the community needs to show how useful robots can be, and make people understand that we are not just gadgets anymore!
