Challenge (I): Cocktail Robots & Technology

Introduction:
Vive Les Robots! asked Magnus Wurzer: Which kind of robots and festival challenges that is connected with Roboexotica? In this article you can read more on difficulties with implementing the technology and its usage in the robots.

Cocktail Robots & Technology
"In the big sector of challenges, there's on one hand challenges specific to the cocktail robotic construction which has turned out to be the ice component of the cocktail. I perceived over the years that some leave out the ice in the first place because they don't want to tackle that problem. And I haven't seen a lot of ice applications at function the same way".

"There's also an amount of robotic installations that use human labor for delivering the ice in the end or the beginning. Like, there's also some genuine innovative ways how you can cheaply build ice delivery systems. Chris Veigl has been very good at that, like building slides and rotating this and that. But yeah, you have the problem of the storage. You need something to keep it cool, which I've seen done nicely in the very nice robot Robomoji by Robert Martin".

"But few, only a very few robots, have included ice making machines which is either very clunky, and most of the cocktail robots aren't clunky and big like industrial robots but fit on a table top or are more fragile than classic industrial or the classic robot outside of Hollywood movies that you actually count on in real life".
